David's practice is concentrated in criminal defense as well as divorce litigation.
David earned his Juris Doctorate from Western New England School of Law in 1998 and graduated from Connecticut College in 1995. David is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
In 1998, David's legal career began as a corporate compliance attorney at Hartford Life. In that capacity, David was responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts relative to the fixed and variable annuity businesses. David was also responsible for coordinating all market conduct examinations including extensive damages negotiations with various State Departments of Insurance.
In 2003, concurrent with his employment at Hartford Life, David began litigating civil and criminal matters. This included issues pertaining to workers compensation, personal injury, contractual claims and other complex litigation issues.
In 2007, David became a partner in the firm of Spellman, Kelly & Fanous LLC. David's practice consists of criminal defense and divorce litigation. His criminal practice includes representing individuals arrested for drug possession and distribution, driving while intoxicated, burglary, assault, larceny, domestic disputes as well as risk of injury to minors.
David's family law practice includes contested and uncontested divorces, child custody issues, termination of parental rights, child support disputes as well as a variety of motions for contempt.
David has served on several boards and committees. More specifically, the East Granby Planning and Zoning Board, the East Granby Economic Development Commission as well as the East Granby Republican Town Committee.
